Medical Grade Skincare vs High Street Products

If you have been to a medical aesthetics clinic with a qualified practitioner, you have most certainly come across at least one medical-grade skincare brand along the way. But why should you choose medical grade skincare when you can easily get high street brands easier and a lot cheaper?

  • Well, the main difference of using medical grade skin care is that these products are usually clinic recommended made with the right amount of active ingredients that make it more effective and with guaranteed minimal to no side effects. It is imperative to emphasise that for medical grade skincare products, only well trained and certified aesthetics professionals can handle these products and sell them to the public, while anyone can sell high street skin care products with limited to no training at all and minimal knowledge about the skin and the ingredients the product have.

  • Medical grade skin care products and Alumier skincare are supported by science and comprehensive clinical trials to prove their efficacy. These products are also results-driven and provide a much higher percentage of active ingredients that boost its effectiveness. Their molecular patterns also mean that they can reach much more effectively into the dermis layers where collagen and elastin are reproduced for a younger and more glowing skin.

High street products on the other hand often include limited active ingredients in their product range because most of these skin care products are highly commercialised. Lacking the right amount of active ingredients means it cannot go deeper into the skin and usually sit just on top of dead skin cells or the epidermis layers of our skin. In the long run, high street products have very little impact because it cannot reach the dermis layers to stimulate new collagen or elastin reproduction.

Bespoke Skincare Regimens For All Skin Concerns.

Acne.

Is the blockage of hair follicles, where sebum is produced, by dead skin cells, overproduction of sebum and proliferation of P. acnes bacteria and consequent inflammation.

Ageing.

Our skin cycle becomes longer with age, causing dead skin cells to collect on the top layer of the epidermis looking dry and rough. The epidermis also thins as we get older.

Rosacea.

Is a chronic skin condition characterised by intermittent facial flushing, redness, telangiectasias (visible vessels), bumps and pimples.

Hyperpigmentation.

Is the darkened appearance to the skin in either small or large areas caused by excess melanin production.

Oily Skin.

The overproduction of sebum (oil) can be linked to hormones, genetics or an issue with the skin’s hydration balance. Irritation can also increase sebum production, so it is important to use products with soothing ingredients to control excess oil.

Dry Skin.

Dry skin often suffers from increased cell turnover time, meaning it takes longer than 28 days for skin cells to move from the deeper layers to being part of the dead stratum corneum at the surface. It is important to use the correct ingredients to attract moisture into the epidermis and keep it there.

Sensitive Skin.

Sensitive skin needs gentle products with ingredients that reduce redness and inflammation. It is often lacking in moisture so strengthening the skin’s hydrolipid barrier by using moisturisers that calm and hydrate.

Dehydrated Skin.

Dehydrated skin occurs when there’s a lack of water in the skin. Typically looks dull and can show premature signs of ageing, like surface wrinkles and loss of elasticity.

Suitable For All Skin Types.
